Toppling Goliath is back from a season of Snow-birding.
The Midwestern craft brewing giant, Toppling Goliath, returns canning operations to their home town of Decorah, Iowa after a 2-year moonlight at a production facility in Lakeland, Florida.
Toppling Goliath grew from brewer Clark Lewey’s garage to a full brewhouse in 2009. Clark self-distributed, driving to John’s Grocery from Decorah with a truckload of fresh beer. John’s paid for the beer with a check and the for driver, a hot steak sandwich.
With tasty IPA’s, a world-renowned barrel-aging program, and hitting top ranks as a worldwide brewery, it didn’t take long before TG demand outgrew their production capacity. TG partnered with a major canning facility in Lakeland, Florida in March 2016.
Immediately, TG’s fans noticed a difference. Beer enthusiasts speculated and debated over the changes for months, blowing up beer blogs and reddit forums. Toppling Goliath responded with expansion. Exactly two years and a huge building project later, Toppling Goliath returns to Decorah. Their brand-new, massive canning facility cranks out cans of the old TG we fell in love with, and we are Iowa-Proud of it.
